Tone

Definition: pitch or strength of one's voice when he/she read the poem, if the voice goes up and down, there will mood to the poem.

Example:
Who do you think you are?
Running' round leaving scars
Collecting your jar of hearts
And tearing love apart

You're gonna catch a cold
From the ice inside your soul
So don't come back for me
Who do you think you are?

The italic parts you sing with low voice
The underlined part you sing flat
And the bold part you higher

Significant: While reading poems with tone, the readers can understand the poem better by understand the mood of the poem. And the poem will sound more interesting with pitch going up or down, not just flat, because that will make it boring.
